About the role
The King’s Foundation is a charity founded by King Charles III as the Prince of Wales and was first formed in 1990. Inspired by the vision and values of His Majesty, the Foundation builds and supports communities where people, places and the planet can coexist in harmony.
The Hillview Foundation Australia Limited trading as The King’s Foundation Australia launched in 2024. The charity has acquired the NSW property ‘Hillview’, which is the first flagship heritage regeneration project and will serve as a base for developing the charity’s activities.
The King’s Foundation Australia will build upon 35 years of work undertaken by The King’s Foundation to build sustainable communities and transform lives, all inspired by His Majesty’s vision for harmony with the natural world.
The King’s Foundation Australia is seeking an experienced and sophisticated Fundraising Director to join its growing team at an exciting and formative stage of the Foundation’s development. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working in close collaboration with the Executive Director and other key staff, the Fundraising Director will build philanthropic foundations that will sustain the Foundation’s work for years to come.
The primary focus of the role is to develop and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the regeneration of Hillview and the Foundation’s broader charitable activities. The Fundraising Director will be responsible for cultivating relationships with major donors, philanthropic trusts and foundations, and government funding bodies, including coordinating and applying for grants.
The Fundraising Director will also be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with philanthropic partners, corporate supporters, government agencies, and community stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s vision and values.
This role requires a highly capable individual with a proven track record in senior fundraising leadership. This is a unique opportunity to build a fundraising function from the ground up within a globally recognised organisation, at a landmark moment in its Australian history.
