About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to join our IT team in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in Service Desk or Desktop Support who is looking to further develop their hands-on technical skills in a global professional services environment.
Working closely with end users, IT colleagues and service delivery teams, you will provide frontline support across desktop, hardware, software and collaboration technologies. You'll play a key role in ensuring employees have the tools and support they need to work effectively, while contributing to the ongoing improvement of our IT services and systems.
This position offers excellent exposure to a broad range of technologies and business operations, with opportunities to collaborate with teams across Australia and globally while developing your career within a supportive IT environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide desktop and application support to end users, resolving technical issues and service requests in a timely manner
Manage and maintain support tickets, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to service level expectations
Support the configuration, deployment and maintenance of desktop hardware, software and mobile devices
Coordinate IT onboarding and offboarding activities for employees, including equipment provisioning and account setup
Perform routine system maintenance, health checks and operational administration activities
Assist with the management of IT equipment lifecycle activities, including asset tracking and replacement programs
Support meeting room technology, audio visual equipment and collaboration tools
Escalate and liaise with external vendors and specialist IT teams where required
Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing operational and technical support as needed
Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation, knowledge articles and operational procedures
Collaborate with local and global IT teams to continuously improve service delivery and customer experience
Support technology best practices, security requirements and corporate IT standards
About You:
You are a customer-focused and technically minded IT professional who enjoys problem-solving and helping others. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and are looking to build your career within a supportive and fast-paced technology function.
You will bring:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Desktop Support, Service Desk or IT Support role
Experience supporting Windows desktop environments, Microsoft Office applications and end-user devices
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software and user-related issues
Experience working with ticketing systems and managing support requests through to resolution
Excellent customer service skills with a passion for delivering a positive user experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business
Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently with minimal supervision
Experience configuring and deploying desktop hardware and software is desirable
Awareness of IT service management principles and operational best practices
Ability to work effectively within geographically dispersed and virtual teams
A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally to regional and interstate offices
Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
Qualifications
Skills & Specifications:
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent) is preferred but not a requirement
Some experience working in an IT environment required
Travel (driving/flying to other Stantec offices (local and interstate will be required), must have valid driver’s license.
Suitable for Permanent Residency visa holders or Australia Citizens only
Self-starter - The ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrates an outstanding “customer orientated” service management experience
Ability to build relationships through strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement and assertiveness
Demonstrates the ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic and sequential approach
Awareness of the challenges and benefits of working in geographically and culturally dispersed, virtual teams, and willingness to work cooperatively with others in such teams
Process orientated, able to work cross functionally in a team environment
Exhibit a natural curiosity, passion, and a desire to find ways to apply technology to business challenges
Promotes innovation and continual process improvement
