About The Opportunity

Bundaberg Reginal Council is seeking experienced and motivated Senior Parks Maintenance Labourers to join our Parks & Natural Areas team, with opportunities available in both Bundaberg and Gin Gin.

In these hands-on roles, you'll play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the region's parks, gardens, open spaces and coastal environments. The roles involve a mix of horticultural and maintenance activities including mowing, pruning, planting, irrigation and landscaping, along with the safe operation of plant and equipment. Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll contribute to delivering high-quality, safe and well-presented public spaces for the community while demonstrating reliability, teamwork and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

About You

To be successful in these roles, you will demonstrate:

• Practical experience in parks maintenance, horticulture or a similar field, with the ability to carry out tasks such as mowing, pruning, planting and general upkeep of public spaces.
• Demonstrated capability to safely operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws and other handheld tools.
• A strong commitment to safe work practices, with sound knowledge of manual handling, hazard awareness and risk management.
• The physical capability to undertake repetitive, labour-intensive tasks while maintaining a high standard of work.
• A reliable, proactive and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve outcomes.
• Effective communication skills and a professional manner when engaging with team members, supervisors and the public.
• The ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement and respond to on-site challenges as they arise.
• A current Class C Driver's Licence
• Possession of a General Construction Induction (White) Card.

Desirable

• MR or HR Driver's Licence (or willingness to obtain).
• Relevant plant operation tickets and/or horticultural qualifications.
• Herbicide (AC/DC) licence and First Aid/CPR certification.
