Senior Estimator / Contracts Administrator - Civil Concrete Experience

We’re looking for someone who understands civil construction, enjoys working with people, and has a genuine interest in helping a good business grow.

This is a unique role that brings together civil estimating, civil concrete construction knowledge and relationship building.

We’re looking for someone who can understand the technical side of a project, work through a tender, build a considered price and then confidently speak with Project Managers and clients about the work.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The right person will ideally have experience in civil construction and civil concrete and be comfortable reading and interpreting civil plans and documentation.

You don’t need to know everything on day one , but you do need to understand how civil construction works and be able to work through a set of plans and ask the right questions.

You’ll be working with:

• Civil engineering drawings and plans
• Concrete and structural details
• Site plans, sections and levels
• Quantities and take-offs
• Civil specifications and scopes
• Construction methodologies
• Labour, materials and plant requirements
• Project timeframes and site conditions
• Tender documentation and revisions

We want someone who can look at a set of plans and start to picture how the job will actually be constructed.

THE ESTIMATING SIDE

You’ll help prepare competitive and accurate tenders for civil concrete projects.

This will involve understanding the scope, working through quantities, considering labour and plant, identifying potential risks and making sure the final price works for both the client and Georgievski Bros.

We’re not simply interested in being the cheapest price.

We want to understand the job properly and price it responsibly.

THE PEOPLE SIDE

The other important part of this role is relationships.

You’ll have regular contact with Project Managers, Engineers, Contracts Administrators, builders and clients.

You don’t need to be a “salesperson” in the traditional sense.

WHAT THE ROLE WILL LOOK LIKE

You could be involved in:

Finding opportunities
Identifying projects that are a good fit for Georgievski Bros.

Reviewing plans
Understanding drawings, specifications and the scope of works.

Estimating
Preparing quantities, costs and tender submissions.

Talking with clients
Clarifying requirements and understanding what is important to them.

Following up
Keeping communication open after a tender has been submitted.

Building relationships
Developing strong relationships with Project Managers and clients that lead to ongoing work.

Winning the right work
Helping the business grow with projects that suit our capabilities and are commercially worthwhile.
