ICT Technician - Help Desk

About the role

The position of ICT Technician is part of the Mother Teresa Catholic College IT Support team. The role is responsible for administering assistance in the operation of ICT functions at the College, including providing service delivery and basic troubleshooting for digital platforms and devices. In providing digital support, the ICT Technician helps ensure that the College's learning technologies are operational, up-to-date, and catalogued. The ICT Technician is directly accountable to the ICT Coordinator on behalf of the Business Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Provision of ICT troubleshooting and helpdesk support to all members of the College community
• Identify, prioritise, and log phone, email, and web queries in the Service Desk ticketing software
• Escalate unresolved issues to the ICT Coordinator in a timely matter
• Actively assist with updating, maintaining, and monitoring College Digital systems to ensure the uptime, security, and performance reliability of the environment
• Assisting College staff and students with device and software set up
• Providing training with devices and digital platforms for College staff and students
• Providing friendly advice on digital learning resources for College staff and students
• Assistance on ICT projects, as assigned
• Actively contribute to the Catholic Ethos and the values of the College

About you

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external community members
• High level administration skills including proficiency in using Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
• A good level of proficiency in a range of ICT technologies, digital learning platforms, computing programs and Apple resources
• Experience with Mac OS X and iPadOS/iOS systems
• Troubleshooting browser related issues for Web Apps
• Good communication skills - both written and verbal
• Good attention to detail
• Effective time management
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
