Job Opportunity: Master <45m (Master 4) – Brisbane Cruises

Location: Brisbane, QLD | Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Casual

Built in 1972, MV Lady Brisbane is a well-maintained 30m monohull passenger vessel that operates along the Brisbane River and within the Moreton Bay Region. Brisbane Cruises has a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction, and we are seeking a professional and experienced Master <45m to join our growing operations.

As the master, you will be responsible for the safe operation and overall command of our vessel, managing both crew and passengers while delivering high-quality service. You’ll be expected to lead by example, maintain compliance with maritime regulations, and ensure every journey is smooth, safe, and enjoyable for both crew and passengers on board. Pay is negotiable and is based on skill set. Happy to discuss through interview. Competitive hourly rate based on qualifications and experience

• Master <45m (NC) Certificate of Competency (or higher)

• MED 3

• Current First Aid & CPR certification

• Long Range Marine Radio Operator Certificate

• Valid AMSA medical certificate

• Proven experience as a Master on commercial vessels

• In-depth knowledge of local waterways (Brisbane River and Moreton Bay preferred)

• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills

• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays

• Command and operate vessels up to 45 meters in accordance with AMSA regulations

• Navigate Brisbane River and surrounding coastal waters safely and efficiently

• Supervise and support crew in daily operations and passenger services

• Ensure full compliance with safety management systems and emergency procedures

• Maintain logs, records, and vessel condition to commercial survey standard

• Communicate clearly & effectively with port authorities, engineer and owner/operators

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience onboard (commentary throughout charters)
