We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bakery Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy retail bakery.

This is a full-time permanent position for a hands-on leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced food retail environment while leading and developing a successful team.

Key Responsibilities

As our Bakery Store Manager, you will be responsible for:

* Managing the day-to-day operations of the bakery store

* Leading, supervising, training and developing team members

* Preparing staff rosters and managing labour costs

* Monitoring sales performance and implementing strategies to achieve business targets

* Ensuring exceptional customer service at all times

* Managing inventory, stock ordering and stock control while minimising wastage

* Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety compliance

* Ensuring attractive product presentation and merchandising

* Managing cash handling, POS operations and daily reconciliation

* Handling customer enquiries and resolving customer concerns professionally

* Working closely with senior management to improve operational efficiency and business performance

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

* Previous management experience within a bakery, café, food retail or hospitality environment

* Strong leadership and people management skills

* Excellent organisational and time management abilities

* Experience in staff training and performance management

* Experience in inventory management, stock ordering and cost control

* Strong customer service and communication skills

* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment

* Good understanding of Australian Food Safety Standards and Workplace Health & Safety requirements

* Proficiency in English communication

* Availability to work weekends, public holidays and flexible retail hours

Desirable Skills

The following will be highly regarded:

* Experience managing a high-volume bakery or café operation

* Experience using retail POS systems and sales reporting

* Ability to analyse sales data and improve store performance

* Ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or Cantonese, as our store serves a diverse multicultural customer base with a significant number of Chinese-speaking customers

* Salary: AUD $78,000–$88,000 plus Superannuation (depending on experience)
