Drummond Street Services is a not-for-profit, non-denominational agency with over 130 years of delivering innovative services that strengthen families and communities across Victoria.

Nationally recognised for complex trauma-informed practice, we supported survivors through the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and continue to support survivors to access justice through the National Redress Scheme (NRS).

About the Roles

We have three part-time positions (0.8 FTE) available within our expanding Complex Trauma Service team.

These are contract positions until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of extension (subject to funding).

Based in Carlton, with regular travel across metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and correctional facilities, you will support survivors of institutional child sexual abuse to navigate the National Redress Scheme. Reporting to the Senior Complex Trauma Practitioner, you will work within a specialist transdisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed counselling, therapeutic case work and advocacy.

Duties

• Support people in custody with NRS applications living in the community, and at times in correctional facilities.
• Deliver complex trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic case work to survivors in community and Corrections settings
• Drive referrals and assertively engage clients across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria
• Collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, client-led advocacy and support
• Contribute to systematic advocacy and knowledge-sharing within the Complex Trauma Service

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or Mental Health + professional body accreditation
• Demonstrated experience in complex trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic case work
• Knowledge of healing and recovery approaches for survivors of institutional abuse
• Demonstrated commitment to affirming practice with LGBTIQA+, First Nations, and people of colour communities
