Each gown is designed and prototyped in our Melbourne studio by a production team with a wealth of knowledge in couture.
We are a friendly, tight knit team that work closely together to create an inviting and enjoyable environment. We strive to provide our brides with high quality, beautiful gowns that enhance the joy and love they should experience on their big day.
About the Role:
Jane Hill is seeking a quality control and workroom assistant to join our team.
Your role will primarily consist of checking garments to ensure they meet our quality standards, with additional tasks around the workroom such as hand finishing garments and pattern cutting and tracing.
You will work as a part of the QC and production team to ensure our garments meet the highest standards of quality that Jane Hill is renowned for.
Quality control checks: Check all garments are correct to spec and meet our quality control guidelines. Working with our production team to resolve any issues. Packing gowns down for shipping.
Data logging: Log all work in our order management system. Communicating with your manager and logging all faults.
Workroom duties: Workroom tasks include but are not limited to pattern tracing and cutting. Garment hand sewing and finishing. Construction of development samples.
Workroom safety and tidying: Routine cleaning and tidying of workspace.
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for someone who has studied fashion design at tertiary level or a similar course outline. Please note that this is a requirement for the position, and only applicants with this will be considered for the role.
Skills required but not limited to:
Have an exceptional attention for detail
Previous experience in the fashion industry highly favourable
Garment construction and hand sewing skills
Strong communication skills
Strong organisation skills, including time management and multitasking
Understanding fabrication
Being able to work in a fast-paced work environment
Motivated and driven to complete tasks
Have the ability to lift, bend and move heavy items
What we’re offering:
This role allows the applicant to be involved in an esteemed bridal company, with international recognition.
This is a seasonal position with potential to extend employment. We are offering between 2-5 days a week, our working hours are 8am-4pm. Must be available to work during our peak periods between Sept-Oct. We are looking for the applicant to have an immediate start at our Richmond workroom.
