About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as our new Technical Officials Lead, based at Gold Netball Centre in Jolimont.  You will help NWA to lead the coordination of the Technical Officials Programs and deliver ongoing development of the NWA workforce including umpires, bench officials and coaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the operational administration, planning and coordination of Technical Officials programs including annual planning, program timelines, registrations, communication, travel, accommodation, uniforms, equipment, budgets, reporting, records and resource management
• Develop and support the Performance & Pathway Officials structure through the delivery of NA’s NOAS initiatives and associated education programs, ensuring alignment with organisational performance measures
• Support the development and retention of the Technical Officials workforce through recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, education sessions, resource development, volunteer engagement and succession planning
• Coordinate and administer Technical Officials accreditation processes and records in accordance with NA framework and requirements
• Lead the delivery of the State Umpire Performance Program (SUPP), supporting the identification, development and nomination if WA umpires for national competition and high-performance opportunities
• Lead the allocation of Technical Officials for Pathway competitions and coordinate and chair WANL Umpire Performance, Development and Allocation meetings to support consistent, transparent and performance-informed development and appointment decisions
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with NA, WANL clubs, associations, regional associations, coaches, team managers, performance staff, volunteers and internal NWA departments
• Coordination of TID and mentoring at FTGA Association Championships and attend NWA and Performance & Pathway Competitions and carnivals as required
• Maintain Technical Officials databases, records and reporting systems to support workforce planning, program delivery and organisational reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency including automation, database management, technology use, shared workforce models and distribution of technical expertise
• Attendance at Regional Office professional development days, events, social and promotional functions as required
• Promote the purpose, values and behaviours of NWA within the netball and greater Western Australian communities advocating the sport as a deliverer in service excellence

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary degree in relevant field or experience in a similar position (Essential)
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role or industry (Essential)
• Experience in the sport/not-for-profit industry would be highly regarded
• Sound technical knowledge of umpiring and officiating frameworks, with experience contributing to officiating initiatives, programs or pathway activities
• Project and program coordination experience with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
• Experience with coaching, mentoring and workforce support
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement experience
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and travel intrastate/interstate as required
• Demonstrated alignment with NWA values and a commitment to service excellence
