Canberra Rape Crisis Centre
Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) is a non-government, not for profit organisation working to eliminate sexual violence against adults and children of all genders. CRCC provides free, professional and confidential counselling and support for victim survivors of sexual violence, and their families, who have experienced any form of sexual violence recently or in the past.
The Counsellor Coordinator playa key leadership role in the delivery and coordination of CRCC’s counselling services. This role is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, trauma informed therapeutic support to people impacted by sexual violence. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Counsellor Coordinator oversees day to day counselling operations, supports staff through supervision and mentoring, contributes to counselling program development, and may be required to deliver direct clinical services to clients.
The Counsellor Coordinator will regularly undertake the role of Emergency Contact (EC), providing an escalation point for staff ensuring after-hours operational oversight, clinical consultation, decision-making, and support to staff in managing critical incidents, client risks, and service delivery matters.
The Counsellor Coordinator will provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to staff, facilitate clinical and peer review meetings. The Counsellor Coordinator will contribute to staffs’ professional development through mentoring and performance feedback.The Counsellor Coordinator may be required to hold a small case load of clients as required.The Counsellor Coordinator will support the provision of trauma informed counselling and attends external callouts and after-hours responses.
Working in partnership with the Clinical Director, the Counsellor Coordinator will support the implementation and review of policies and procedures, contribute to quality assurance and service planning, and use data to inform continuous improvement. The Counsellor Coordinator will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen coordination and referral pathways.
· Minimum of Bachelor or Master of Psychology, Social Work or Counselling from an Australian or recognised equivalent university.
· ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
· Australian Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
· Full-time on an ongoing basis.
· Evening and weekend work as required.
· On-site or external locations as required.
