About the role
St Peter's College is a Catholic Co-educational Secondary College in Melbourne's south-east region that has a proud history of fostering the educational and spiritual development of its students. The Sports Assistant provides essential administrative, logistical, and hands-on support to the Sports Manager. This role is to be offered as a fixed term, part-time role and it would be possible to increase FTE by working as a Learning Support Officer alongside the Sports Assistant role. As a Sports Assistant the role will be 3 days per week per week during school terms, with mandatory attendance required on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Our ideal candidates:
Will actively support the Catholic Identity of the College
Will maintain, organize, and audit sports equipment storage sheds to ensure safety and tidiness.
Set up and pack down equipment for internal and inter-school sporting fixtures.
Supervise secondary school students during training setups, travel, and warm-ups under teacher direction.
Provide administrative support to the Sports Manager.
Able to work as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in a school environment or working towards a Teaching qualification would be highly desirable.
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with valid work rights.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children and will hold current employee Working With Children's Check and National Police Check.
Salary
In accordance with the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Agreement 2022, from 7 July 2025, the salary range for the position is Category B, Level 2 Education Support Staff.
