General Manager – Murchison Operations & Project Development

About the role

Monument is seeking an experienced senior mining leader to join the WA team as General Manager – Murchison Operations & Project Development, reporting directly to the CEO & President of Monument Group Companies. This is a key senior management role with responsibility for leading the Murchison Gold Project through development, construction and operational readiness into production, and establishing a safe, sustainable and commercially successful mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Providing strategic technical and project advice to the CEO

• Leading project development, construction, commissioning and transition into operations

• Providing overall leadership across mining, processing, technical services, projects, maintenance and HSE

• Overseeing mine planning, production strategy and operational performance

• Building and leading a high-performing management team

• Managing CAPEX/OPEX, contractors, project schedules and cost performance

• Ensuring strong HSE, environmental and WA regulatory compliance

• Supporting government, Traditional Owner and key stakeholder engagement

About you

• Mining Engineering or related technical qualification

• Approximately 15+ years' mining industry experience

• Significant Australian open-pit hard-rock mining experience

• Strong senior operational and/or project leadership experience

• Demonstrated mine development and operational readiness experience

• Strong mine planning, commercial and project management capability

• Western Australian mining experience highly regarded

• Gold mining or mine start-up experience strongly preferred
