About the role
At St Patrick's College, we believe every student has the capacity to lead, contribute and make a positive difference within our community. To further strengthen our commitment to student formation, leadership development and student voice, we are excited to introduce the newly created position of Head of Student Leadership and College Cup.
This key leadership position is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive student leadership framework across Years 5 to 12, while overseeing the College Cup program and creating meaningful opportunities for student growth, participation and leadership. Working closely with the College Leadership Team, student leaders and pastoral staff, the successful candidate will cultivate a culture of belonging, service, excellence and healthy competition, ensuring every student has the opportunity to contribute to the life of the College and develop their leadership potential.
The successful applicant will be a passionate educator and leader with a strong commitment to student development, servant leadership and fostering student voice. They will play a pivotal role in shaping the experiences that help young men become confident, engaged and purpose-driven members of the College community.
This position is a 3-year (1-point) Promotional Appointment (2027 - 2029) + full time permanent teaching position and attracts up to 0.3 FTE time release.
As part of our commitment to developing young men of character, faith and leadership, the Head of Student Leadership and College Cup will provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of student leadership initiatives across the College. The successful applicant will lead the creation of a contemporary student leadership framework that promotes student voice, encourages participation and provides leadership opportunities for students across Years 5 to 12. Working collaboratively with student leaders, Year Coordinators, the Wellbeing Team and the Identity Team, they will support the development of leadership programs, training initiatives and experiences that empower students to become active contributors to their school and wider community.
The role also oversees the College Cup, a long-standing and highly valued College initiative that celebrates achievement, participation, service, school spirit and House pride. The successful applicant will be responsible for promoting the College Cup throughout the year, encouraging broad student engagement and ensuring the House system continues to provide students with a strong sense of belonging and connection to the College community. The successful applicant will maintain a teaching allocation and demonstrate excellence as a classroom practitioner. They will be a collaborative and innovative educator who is passionate about student leadership, character formation and creating opportunities for every student to flourish.
