About the role
As Venue Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations, financial performance, team leadership, and guest experience at The Oxford Scholar. You will lead from the front, inspire your team, and ensure the venue continues to deliver exceptional service while achieving strong commercial results. This role is ideal for a proven hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to further develop their career within a growing hospitality business.
Key responsibilities
Oversee all venue operations across bar, restaurant, and function spaces
Working alongside Operation manager to achieve the business goal.
Lead, mentor, and develop a large front and back of house team
Drive a positive culture focused on service excellence and team engagement
Manage venue financial performance, labour costs, and budgets
Create and manage team rosters and payroll processes
Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain high service standards
Coordinate and grow the venue's functions and events business
Maintain compliance with liquor licensing, workplace health and safety, and company standards
Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
Work closely with senior management to identify and implement growth opportunities
About you
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Venue Manager, Bar Manager, or senior hospitality leader
Strong experience managing high-volume pubs, bars, or hospitality venues
Excellent leadership and people-development skills
Proven ability to manage budgets, labour costs, and venue profitability
Strong understanding of food, beverage, and functions operations
Exceptional organisational and communication skills
A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to lead from the floor
A passion for creating memorable guest experiences
Current RSA and full Australian working rights
