Role Overview:

• This is a temporary leave cover role commencing 1 September 2026 - 25 September 2026.

Specific Criteria:

Minarah College is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Department - Science to join our dynamic Secondary School team.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to the Science Department, leading high-quality teaching and learning, curriculum delivery and student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and support the Science Department in the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.

2. Coordinate curriculum planning, assessment and resources across the department.

3. Support and mentor Science teaching staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

4. Monitor student performance and progress, implementing strategies to improve student engagement and achievement.

Employment Conditions:

Teachers at Minarah College are employed under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Relevant teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation.

• Extensive teaching experience in secondary education.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of secondary teaching experience is required, with leadership or faculty/department coordination experience highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to the values and ethos of Islamic education.

• Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
