About The Role
Support the advancement of Standards Australia's international engagement, strategic partnerships and influence to progress economic, trade, regulatory and foreign policy objectives. In this role you will build and maintain trusted relationships across Australian and foreign governments, multilateral institutions, standards bodies, industry, and development organisations.
Contribute to the strategic positioning of standards as an enabler of trade, economic security, innovation and foreign policy interests, with a particular focus on the Indo-Pacific.
What you’ll do
Lead and support strategic partnerships and initiatives aligned with organisational priorities and growth objectivesDevelop and manage high-value relationships with government agencies, diplomatic representatives, international organisations, industry leaders and funding organisationsPrepare high-quality briefs, submissions, talking points, position papers and analysis on the geostrategic importance of standardsDevelop proposals, business cases, funding bids and partnership agreements to secure external support and investmentDevelop and maintain a pipeline of strategic opportunities that enhance Standards Australia’s impact, capability, funding base and international presence, particularly in the Indo-Pacific.Represent Standards Australia and, where appropriate, Australia’s standards community in high-level domestic and international forums, bilateral engagements, multilateral meetings and stakeholder discussionsProvide strategic advice on Australian Government prioritiesDevelop project and program budgetsSupport effective stakeholder engagement across the organisationMentor and support junior team membersPromote collaboration, knowledge sharing and a high-performance team culture
About you
Experience in diplomacy, international policy, government relations, trade, international development, public policy or related fieldsDemonstrated understanding of Australian Government policy development, decision-making processes and machinery of government arrangementsExperience working in, or leading engagement with stakeholders in the Indo-Pacific, including governments, regional organisations and development partners, would be highly regardedExceptional written communication skills, including preparation of briefs, submissions, position papers and funding proposals.Willingness and capacity to undertake domestic and international travel as required
