Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician JAX Tyres & Auto

At JAX Tyres & Auto St Marys, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our team at STORE. As a motor mechanic, you will play a vital role in servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring our customers drive away with confidence and peace of mind. As a tyre technician, you will play a vital hands-on role, working with premium tyre brands across a wide variety of vehicles, expertly fitting, balancing and repairing tyres ensuring our customers drive away with confidence and peace of mind.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting vehicle diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repairs

• Performing maintenance on engines, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems and more

• Fitting, balancing and rotating tyres for a wide range of vehicles

• Road testing vehicles to ensure the quality of repairs

• Accurately completing service documentation and job cards

• Communicating with customers to explain issues and proposed solutions

• Working collaboratively with the workshop team to meet deadlines and maintain high service standards

• Following all safety protocols and company procedures

• Performing tyre repairs and inspections

• Maintaining a clean and safe workspace

• Delivering excellent customer service and tyre-related advice

• Assisting with stock handling and inventory when needed

• Willing to learn Wheel Alignment

What we're looking for

• Trade-qualified Motor Mechanic/ Automotive Tecnician (Cert III Automotive - Light Vehicle)

• 5-10 years' experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic & Tyre Technician

• Automotive trade qualification and certificates

• Essential requirement to have experience managing and training apprentices as this is a key responsibility of the role

• Current valid Driver's Licence

• Must hold a Vehicle Inspector License for conducting pink slip inspections

• Have your own tools

• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A strong focus on safety and compliance with WHS regulations
