Dewatering Superintendent

About the role

Pantoro Gold is seeking an experienced and highly capable Dewatering Superintendent to join our operations team and take ownership of dewatering activities across our mining operations. This is a key operational leadership role responsible for ensuring dewatering systems are effectively planned, maintained and operated to support safe, efficient and uninterrupted mining. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, practical field experience and the ability to lead people and contractors in a dynamic mining environment.

The Dewatering Superintendent will oversee the day to day delivery of dewatering activities, ensuring water management systems are reliable, compliant and aligned with mine plans and production requirements. You will work closely with Technical Services teams to identify emerging water management requirements and develop practical solutions that support operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all site dewatering activities, including groundwater management, pumping, pipelines, sumps and associated infrastructure.

• Develop and implement effective dewatering strategies aligned with current and future mine plans.

• Monitor water levels, pumping performance, system capacity and operational requirements.

• Ensure dewatering infrastructure is inspected, maintained and fit for purpose.

• Coordinate installation, relocation and commissioning of pumps, pipelines and associated equipment.

• Identify and proactively manage potential water related risks to mining operations.

• Lead and supervise employees and contractors involved in dewatering activities.

• Plan labour, equipment and resources to meet operational requirements.

• Work closely with Mining and Technical Services teams to anticipate future dewatering requirements.

• Maintain accurate records, reporting and water management documentation.

About you

• Demonstrated experience in a Dewatering Superintendent, Dewatering Supervisor, Senior Dewatering Technician or similar mining role.

• Significant experience with mine dewatering systems, pumps, pipelines, sumps and associated infrastructure.

• Strong understanding of groundwater and surface water management in an operating mine environment.

• Experience working in underground and/or open pit mining environments.

• Proven ability to lead teams and manage mining contractors.

• Strong planning, organisational and problem solving skills.

• The ability to interpret mine plans and understand changing operational requirements.

• A strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance and operational discipline.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A practical, solutions focused approach with the confidence to get involved in the field.
