Business Technology Manager

The Company:We are partnering with a highly successful, fast-growing financial services provider and non-bank lender based in Sydney. Unlike massive, slow-moving corporate banks, this business operates with a lean, agile mindset and a highly mature, cloud-native technology ecosystem.Due to continued growth and investment in their core platforms, they are looking for a driven technology leader to take absolute ownership of their lending and payments architecture.
The Role:This is the perfect opportunity for a talented Tech Lead, Chapter Lead, or Solution Architect who is ready to step up into a holistic management role. You won’t just be a cog in a massive machine, you will own the technical design, delivery, and roadmap for critical loan origination and servicing platforms.
You will lead a tight-knit internal engineering squad while heavily managing and directing a broader ecosystem of external vendor partners.
What you will actually do:System Ownership: Act as the ultimate technical authority for core lending systems, payment gateways, batch processing, and API integrations within a Microsoft Azure environment.Vendor & Delivery Management: Translate business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps. You will manage 3rd-party software vendors, prioritise their backlogs, troubleshoot complex business logic, and hold them accountable to delivery timelines.Solution Design: Architect secure, scalable, and highly robust cloud solutions.Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the crucial bridge between the executive team, internal business units, and external tech providers, negotiating effectively to maximize ROI on tech investments.
What we are looking for:Domain Expertise (Crucial): You must have a strong background in the Lending, Mortgages, or Payments sectors. You understand the business logic behind loan management or complex transactions.Step-Up Leadership: You are an ambitious mid-level IT manager, Chapter Lead, or a highly driven Senior Tech Professional looking to step into a broader management position.Technical Chops: While you will manage the delivery, you need a strong architectural understanding. Familiarity with the Microsoft Stack (Azure, SQL Server, .NET), CI/CD pipelines, API integrations, and modern web applications (React) is highly desirable.
