Female active overnight Disability Support Worker

About the role

Happy Faces Disability Support is seeking a Female Active Overnight Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis, we can offer a set roster for those that like to plan their lives. This is an overnight support role based in Lavington, NSW 2641. As an active overnight support worker, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities during night hours, ensuring their safety, comfort and wellbeing whilst they sleep. This role is crucial in delivering quality disability support services and directly impacts the lives of the people we support. This role is supported by a sleepover staff member.

This position is open to female candidates only due to the specific nature of personal care requirements and client preferences.

Key responsibilities

1. Provide personal care assistance and support to service users during overnight hours, including toileting, hygiene and dressing as required

2. Monitor the health, safety and wellbeing of service users throughout the night shift

3. Respond promptly and professionally to requests and concerns raised by service users

4. Maintain a safe and secure environment, including conducting regular checks and observations

5. Document and report any incidents, accidents or changes in service user conditions

6. Maintain confidentiality and dignity of all service users at all times

7. Communicate effectively with day staff regarding any overnight concerns or observations

8. Assist with light household tasks and maintain cleanliness of shared spaces

9. Follow all company policies, procedures and relevant legislation regarding disability support

What we're looking for

1. A caring and compassionate approach to disability support with genuine interest in helping others

2. Physical fitness and ability to provide active support during overnight shifts

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

4. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

5. Reliability and commitment to maintaining consistent overnight shifts

6. Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

7. Previous experience in disability support, aged care or similar caregiving roles is highly valued

8. A valid driver's licence and reliable transport are essential requirements for this position

9. Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual service user needs

10. Shift times are 10pm-6am strictly. Ability to fulfil these hours is essential.
