Patient Services Clerk

Job Description:

• The position is available in St George’s Kew  campus
• Work for one of Australia’s leading hospital groups
• Part time permanent opportunity! 30 hours per week Mon to Thursday working on a set roster

About the Role

You will provide crucial clerical support and facilitate patient management for the GEM unit . Including admitting patients completing reception duties and delivering exceptional customer service. A key component of the role is ensuring patient confidentiality is always preserved.

• Create patient records and complete all necessary information accurately and in line with current procedures
• Admit patients accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain a high level of customer service by handling patient/ family enquires via telephone and in person, in an efficient, professional, and caring manner
• Arrange appointments for patients as requested by clinical staff

The classification for this position will be HS1 - HS17 ($58,442 - $64,610 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

• Previous administration experience in a health setting

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Knowledge of private health fund billing and public health funding

• Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team

• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent customer service skills

• A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal history check, or willing to obtain

You will be a part of the Environmental Services team, which is a large and varied department operating across multiple locations within St Vincent’s Melbourne campus. We have Patients Services Clerks are located at both Fitzroy and Kew.
