Are you great at connecting with people, explaining things clearly, and getting community involved?
TAMS-AC is looking for a passionate Health Promotion & Engagement Officer to help improve health outcomes for our Mob and the wider community.
This is not your typical desk job. You could be yarning with Elders, running community events, creating health campaigns, developing social media content, filming videos, or sharing knowledge about Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

About the Role
As the Health Promotion & Engagement Officer, you'll help community understand important health issues, access services, and make informed health choices.
Working closely with community, stakeholders, and TAMS-AC teams, you'll develop and deliver health promotion activities, strengthen community connections, and support events, education, communications, and engagement projects.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop and deliver health education and awareness activities in community.
Support health campaigns, events, and outreach programs.
Build strong relationships with local organisations, schools, universities, and community groups.
Create engaging resources, social media content, photos, and videos.
Represent TAMS-AC at community events and promote key health messages.
Collect feedback and data to measure program impact.
Support the Communications, Engagement & Strategy team on a range of projects and initiatives.
Who We're Looking For
You may have experience in health, community services, education, or health promotion.
Most importantly, you're someone who:
Builds strong relationships and connects well with people.
Communicates confidently and keeps audiences engaged.
Explains complex information in plain language.
Enjoys working in community and bringing fresh ideas.
Is passionate about improving Aboriginal health outcomes.
Can use technology, social media, and tools like Canva.
Supports culturally safe, respectful, and engaging communication.
Selection Criteria
Essential
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in health, community services, education, communications, or a related field.
Experience in community engagement, health promotion, education, or outreach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Understanding of Aboriginal health and commitment to culturally safe practice.
Ability to explain complex information in plain language.
Experience creating resources, campaigns, or social media content.
Good organisational, computer, and reporting skills.
Current Driver Licence.
Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
Desirable
Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO).
Knowledge of health promotion and community development.
Experience creating digital content, including social media, videos, or graphics.
Knowledge of local Aboriginal communities and health priorities.
