About the role
East Side Clothing produces women's Fashion brands Stella and Estelle, and supplies to department store House Brands. A newly created opportunity exists for an experienced QA manager, patternmaker and garment technician to manage the sampling and QA process ensuring the final product meets the existing company standards.
A broad range of women's fashion experience across all sizes would be an advantage. All patterns are made using StyleCAD and samples made in either our in-house sample room or by one of our off-shore production partners.
You will be responsible for:
Development of patterns and first samples for internal company brands Stella and Estelle, and external House Brand product
Manage the QA sampling and fabric testing process for company brands and external House Brands
Maintain company fit and quality standards throughout all ranges
You will be able to:
Create patterns/perform alterations on StyleCAD accurately interpreting the design direction
Build tech packs (IWB) and graded size specs using our custom grading to send to our offshore suppliers
Provide fabric and trim estimates within required costing parameters
Recommend and instruct best practice regarding fabrication, trim, construction
Communicate clear sample comments to factories working to the production deadlines
Attend fit sessions and identify fit problems, supporting the design direction
Resolve issues with samples and bulk production
The Ideal Candidate will have the following experience & proficiency:
Managing a QA team and process
StyleCAD patternmaking
Regular and plus-sized women’s fashion patternmaking and grading
Ability to interpret designs from a sketches and original samples using existing blocks for fit
Ability to manage fit sessions
Sound garment construction and fabric knowledge
Tech packs and graded specs in Microsoft Excel
Off shore production communication and problem solving ability
