Boilermakers

Motion Group is looking for qualified Boilermakers to join our team at our Rutherford workshop.

These positions are predominantly workshop-based and would suit Boilermakers who take pride in producing quality structural steelwork within a professional fabrication environment.

Regular overtime is generally available, while employees who prefer an early finish on Fridays can choose that option. Opportunities for site installation and maintenance work are also available for team members who are interested.

The positions will initially be offered on a casual basis, with genuine opportunities for permanent employment available to the right candidates.

What you’ll be doing

• Fabricating, welding and assembling structural steel components

• Reading and working from engineering and fabrication drawings

• Operating workshop machinery, welding equipment and power tools

• Producing work in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards

• Completing dimensional and visual checks on fabricated components

• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area

• Working closely with supervisors, tradespeople and the wider project team

• Participating in site installation, repairs or maintenance work if interested

Our fabrication work is completed in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 1554.1, AS/NZS ISO 3834-2 and AS/NZS 5131.

What we’re looking for

We want Boilermakers who are reliable, capable and take genuine pride in their workmanship.

You will need:

• A recognised Boilermaker trade qualification, such as a certificate of proficiency – Fabrication Trade or equivalent will be highly regarded although not essential.

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and welding

• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings

• A strong commitment to safety, quality and productivity

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required

• A reliable, flexible and positive approach to work

• A current Australian driver’s licence

A current Construction Industry White Card will be required for candidates interested in site-based opportunities.

Experience in structural steel installation, steel erection, industrial maintenance or site modifications will be highly regarded but is not essential for the workshop role.

Applicants who hold current High Risk Work Licences or qualifications for dogging, rigging, crane operation, EWP or forklift operation will also be highly regarded.
