Cafe Lewi is seeking a passionate and skilled Full-Time Chef to join our culinary team. The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring an excellent dining experience for our customers.
Cafe Lewi is seeking a passionate and skilled chef to join our team. The successful applicate must be able to work weekends.This role is for breakfast / lunch shifts wednesday - sunday. No Cash, No sponsorship. We offer something different to other cafes.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and prepare a variety of delicious, fresh, and innovative dishes that align with the vision and style of Café Lewi. Ensure food is prepared in a timely, consistent, and high-quality manner.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and taste. Monitor portion sizes, plating, and the overall quality of dishes being served.
Inventory and Ordering: Assist in managing inventory, order ingredients, and ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked. Minimize food waste and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety practices, cleanliness of kitchen equipment, and sanitation procedures. Ensure that the kitchen maintains compliance with local health codes.
Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they perform their tasks efficiently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Train, mentor, and motivate junior kitchen staff and ensure that all team members are aligned with the café’s culinary standards.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that all meals meet customer expectations, addressing any concerns with professionalism. Be open to feedback and adjust dishes as needed to meet customer needs and preferences.
Collaboration: Work closely with Café Lewi’s front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service, effective communication, and a pleasant dining experience for customers.
Menu Development: Contribute ideas to new dishes, seasonal specials, and food trends to keep the menu fresh, interesting, and aligned with customer expectations.
Maintenance: Keep kitchen equipment and tools in good working order, reporting any issues to the Café Manager for repair or replacement.
Salary would depend on experience after a trial has been completed. The trial would last from 30min - 1 hour at Cafe Lewi.
