Onsite Structural Steel Installer

About the role

Steel Masters Victoria Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Onsite Steel Installer to join our team in Laverton, VIC. This is a full-time position that will involve the installation of steel structures on residential construction sites. If qualified to do so you will be required to operate a heavy rigid (HR) crane truck (manual transmission) for material deliveries and steel installations.

What you'll be doing

• Safely and accurately install steel structures, including steel beams and posts plus other components, on construction sites

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, safety standards and company policies

• Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate material deliveries and installations

• Maintain a clean and organised work environment

• Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an onsite steel installer, with a strong understanding of steel construction techniques

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an onsite steel installer is required

• Possess a current Heavy Rigid (HR) manual driver's licence and experience operating heavy vehicles or be willing to learn this skill.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome challenges on site

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety

• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks

• Follow instructions and able to communicate issues if needed.
