Today, with five operating plants across five states, Boortmalt is ideally positioned to access Australia’s premium barley-growing areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality malt to our brewing and distilling customers locally and also to export markets in Asia and South America.

We are seeking an FSQR and Plant Systems Coordinator to join our Port Adelaide team. Reporting to the Regional FSQR and Plant Systems Lead, you will be an integral member of the Quality and Technical team.

The role will see you working collaboratively across food safety, quality and regulatory compliance with the production facility and plays a critical role in maintaining site food safety and GMP compliance while driving quality initiatives. This role sees you supporting the Regional FSQR and Plant Systems Lead maintain certification for the site to the required standards including audit management, corrective actions and close out to meet required deadlines and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Implement group and regional processes and templates into the plant for risk assessment, document control, corrective actions etc. for SHE, FSQR and energy systems

• Coordinate and deliver training for the sites

• Collect and maintain data for the management systems

• Conduct internal and supplier audits as required Investigate the cause and corrective actions for incidents including customer complaints

• Contribute to the development of a food safety culture

• Adhere to processes, procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management

• Ensure plant food safety (FSSC 22000 & others), quality and continuous improvement system requirements are followed are met

• Take ownership and be involved and committed to achieve a safe workplace

• Strive for continuous improvement on SHE performance and work to achieve a zero-harm work environment

• Assist with the creation and evaluation of risk assessments and standard operating procedures

• Understand the aspects and impacts on the environment of site operations (ISO 14001)

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry

• Experience implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems

• Exposure to industry standards such as FSSC 22000 and ISO 14001

• Auditing qualifications or experience in food safety, quality and environmental systems in a manufacturing environment

• Strong investigation and problem solving skills

• Excellent organisational skills

• Strong attention to detail and analytics

• Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, imperative

• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Able to integrate and operate in a multi-cultural and diverse environment with an inclusive mindset

• A customer focused approach

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office applications
