About Us

Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting-edge Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). Our vessels harness wind, solar and wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.

We are under contract with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations across Australia and beyond. You will be joining a fast-growing organisation contributing to nationally significant projects.

About the Role

As the Human Resource Partner, you will provide hands‑on, end‑to‑end human resources operational support across the employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted first point of contact for both managers and their staff. Your commitment to continuous improvement in policy and processes will be key to success.

This role is suited to an experienced generalist who is comfortable balancing routine HR activities with sensitive, higher‑risk work such as grievance management, workplace investigations, return‑to‑work coordination and policy compliance. You will work autonomously while partnering closely with managers to enable safe, consistent and fair people practices across a growing organisation. The role reports into the Chief of Human Resources.

We are very open to accommodating a part-time workload however please note that the execution of the role will be primarily on-site in Alexandria.

A Typical Day looks Like

• Acting as the first point of contact for employees and leaders, triaging queries and resolving routine HR matters

• Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, changes, performance, documentation and offboarding

• Advising managers on award interpretation, employment compliance and HR policy application

• Managing employee relations matters end‑to‑end, including intake, investigation support and outcome drafting

• Coordinating workers' compensation and return‑to‑work processes with external providers

• Maintaining accurate HR records, contracts and documentation with a strong compliance mindset

• Partnering with the HR team on process improvement, policy updates and people‑focused initiatives

Selection Criteria

• Strong human resource generalist experience across the full cycle of employee management; highly organised; action-oriented; able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with managers and the HR team.

• Minimum 7+ years of human resource generalist experience is required.

• Ability to act as the first point of contact for employees and leaders, quickly understanding issues, prioritising requests, resolving routine matters independently, and escalating complex cases appropriately.

• Compliance mindset, with strong working knowledge of Australian employment law, modern awards/enterprise agreements, and HR policy application.

• Capability to run employee grievance matters or code of conduct breaches end‑to‑end from intake, investigation support, manager coaching, documentation, and outcome drafting while maintaining procedural fairness and confidentiality.

• Direct experience conducting workplace investigations is essential.

• Strong judgement around confidentiality, sensitivity, and risk, knowing when to handle matters independently and when to escalate to legal, ER specialists, or senior HR.

• Proven capability managing workers' compensation and return-to-work coordination with external providers.

Due to the nature of our business, we require Australian Citizenship for all roles and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
