About the role
Permanent Part-Time | 2–4 Days per Week | Newcastle, NSW
We are seeking an experienced, energetic and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our specialist plastic and cosmetic surgery practice in Newcastle.
This permanent part-time position offers 2–4 days per week, with some flexibility depending on the successful candidate’s availability and the needs of the practice.
Our clinical services primarily include skin cancer surgery, body contouring and breast procedures. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation through to post-operative recovery.
Providing pre- and post-operative nursing care
Performing wound assessments, dressing changes and ongoing wound management
Assisting with minor procedures performed in the practice
Providing clear and compassionate patient education and support
Coordinating patient care, follow-up appointments and clinical documentation
Assisting with general clinical and administrative duties
Maintaining high standards of infection prevention, patient safety and confidentiality
Working collaboratively with the surgeon and wider practice team
The ideal candidate will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Previous surgical nursing experience
Experience in plastic, cosmetic, perioperative or wound-care nursing, although this is not essential
Strong wound-management and clinical assessment skills
Excellent communication, organisational and documentation skills
A warm, professional and patient-centred approach
The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a close-knit team
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality care
A permanent part-time position with flexibility across 2–4 days per week
A varied role combining clinical care, patient education and care coordination
