Senior Equipment Engineer

Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan. ANI is responsible designing, constructing and managing the shipyard infrastructure, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) to support the AUKUS program, and operating and maintaining common use facilities.

ANI plays a pivotal role in delivering Australia’s naval shipbuilding capability, contributing to one of the nation’s most significant and complex infrastructure programs. Based in Adelaide, our work underpins the future of naval shipbuilding through world-class infrastructure at Osborne.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership throughout the complete equipment project lifecycle, from specification development and supplier engagement through to installation, commissioning, initial qualification, and handover. You will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate within the team and across infrastructure and facilities teams to facilitate equipment integration within the NPSCY and broader shipyard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical leadership and project management across all equipment project phases, including specification, supplier engagement, design review, integration, installation, commissioning and handover.

• Interface with relevant Infrastructure and other equipment project teams to facilitate integration of equipment into a complex industrial manufacturing environment.

• Provide on-the-job mentoring and support of junior engineering personnel, with potential for direct reports.

About You:

You are an experienced equipment engineer with a passion for delivering complex industrial equipment projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will also have:

• A Bachelor of Engineering qualification.

• Significant experience in industrial manufacturing equipment projects

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a complex project environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD and project management tools.
