Football Academy Coordinator

The German International School Sydney (German School Johannes Gutenberg) is seeking a highly qualified and versatile individual to fill the role of Football Academy Coordinator. The successful candidate will serve as the head coach of the Football Academy, which is a cooperation with Borussia Dortmund (BVB), and will be responsible for the technical coordination of the program. This unique position requires a strong background in football coaching and coordination as well as excellent knowledge of the BVB philosophy and approach.

Responsibilities:

• Establishment and strategic development of the GISS Football Academy in close collaboration with the school leadership.

• Design and implementation of age-appropriate and performance-based football training for students of all school levels (recreational and competitive levels).

• Development of an annual plan for training, competitions, and camps.

• Planning and execution of school football activities (tournaments, friendly matches, school championships).

• Coordination and supervision of all football coaches.

• Building a network with external partners (clubs, associations, other schools).

• Organization of holiday camps and promotional events to increase the visibility of the academy and the school.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Football coaching license (DFB, UEFA, or equivalent qualification).

• Several years of experience working with children and young people in a school and/or sports context.

• Experience in organising sports programs or football academies is an advantage.

• Commitment to professional development in coaching roles.

• Ability to inspire and support children and adolescents on an individual level.

• Intercultural competence and enthusiasm for working in an international school environment.

• Strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and confident demeanour.

• Excellent communication in both German and English.
