About the role
We are seeking a skilled Heavy diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Mordialloc facility in Victoria. This is a full-time position based on-site where you will play a crucial role in the maintenance of heavy machinery used in our waste management and recycling operations. This role is essential to our daily operations and directly impacts the efficiency and safety of our service delivery.
Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on heavy diesel vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and engine faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Repair and maintain a range of plant and equipment including:
Excavators
Loaders
meterial handlers
Skid steers
Crushers and screening equipment
Service, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles including:
Prime movers
Rigid trucks
Tipper trucks
Hook trucks
Semi-trailers
Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, or equivalent.
3rd/4th year apprentices welcome to apply
Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant equipment, trucks, and trailers.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Current driver's license.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
HR, HC or MC truck licence.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience in mobile field service operations.
Reliable and self-motivated.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High attention to detail.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
