The Primary English Teacher at Reddam House Australia plays a pivotal role in guiding students in Year 5 and 6 through their critical educational journey. We are seeking an exceptional English Teacher with a passion for education, dedication, creativity, and outstanding experience, if that's you, please apply! This role is a permanent position starting term 4, based at Reddam House Sydney in Woollahra.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creating Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. You will individualise and differentiate learning, ensuring each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
• Supporting and Assessing Progress: Regularly assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.
• Building a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
• Collaborating and Sharing Best Practices: Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students.
• Contributing to School Life: Play an active role in the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience. From leading clubs to contributing to whole school initiatives, you will help shape the broader life of the school.
• Collaborating with Parents: Maintain open and constructive communication with parents, building strong partnerships that support students' progress so that each child feels like an individual, well-known and respected.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Ability to deliver high-quality english teaching to primary students.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within a departmental team.
• Proficiency in assessing student abilities and providing targeted academic support.
• Competence in designing, administering, and marking assessments.
• Clear communication skills for providing constructive feedback and writing detailed reports.
• Pastoral awareness to support students' emotional and social well-being.
• Confident interpersonal skills for engaging with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills to contribute to school events and maintain ongoing professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education.
• Accreditation with NESA.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• A valid Working with Children Check.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
• Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up and drop off duties.
