Newly created leadership role within our growing Waste Services team
Take ownership of safety, site operations and team performance
Hands-on role combining heavy plant operation and team leadership
This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Coffs Harbour in a newly created Supervisor Landfill role.
Created as part of a recent review of our Waste Services team, this position is one of several new roles established to strengthen leadership on site, support our growing operation, and ensure we continue to deliver safe, efficient and environmentally responsible waste services to the community.

About the Role
As Supervisor Landfill, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of landfill operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with environmental requirements. You'll coordinate staff, oversee site activities, operate plant when required, and support the ongoing development of your team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising Landfill Operators and coordinating daily activities
Leading safe work practices across the site
Operating heavy plant including compactors, loaders and excavators
Managing waste movements, stockpiles and landfill operations
Monitoring environmental controls and site compliance
Coaching, training and mentoring team members
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
Building a positive and productive team culture.
About You
You're a practical leader who isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front.
You have experience in landfill operations, civil construction, quarrying, mining, earthmoving, or a similar environment and understand the importance of safety, teamwork and getting the job done right.
You enjoy supporting and developing others, can confidently coordinate day-to-day operations, and have the ability to keep a team focused on achieving results.
What's Required?
We're looking for someone who has:
Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent relevant experience
Experience supervising a civil works, landfill or operational team
At least two years' experience operating heavy plant across equipment such as waste compactors, loaders or excavators
A current HR Driver Licence
White Card
Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance
The ability to lead, motivate and support a team in a busy operational environment
