About the role
We are seeking a qualified and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our busy workshop in Fyshwick. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of motor vehicles to a high professional standard. This is a full-time position suitable for an experienced mechanic who can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced automotive service environment. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.
Key responsibilities
Inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing petrol and diesel motor vehicles
Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
Performing scheduled vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, tyre checks, suspension checks, and general servicing
Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts, components, and systems
Testing and adjusting mechanical systems after repairs to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operation
Preparing accurate service records, job cards, and reports on work performed
Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures, and relevant safety standards
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
Communicating professionally with supervisors, team members, and customers where required
About you
Relevant trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic or equivalent automotive mechanical qualification
Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time work experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a closely related automotive mechanical role
Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, including engines, brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions, and electrical components
Ability to use diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and hand and power tools safely and effectively
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work full-time hours, including Monday to Saturday rostered work
Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Current driver licence preferred
