Support Worker

In Kanda's on-site SDA community in Bowen Hills, you'll be part of a team doing exactly that, working alongside experienced colleagues while building real relationships with the people you support.

What you'll be doing

• Help people feel safe, confident and in control of their own daily lives
• Be there for personal care, household tasks, appointments and everyday routines
• Encourage independence and support people to work towards what matters to them
• Respond calmly and adapt as needs change throughout the day, including complex behaviours
• Build safe, respectful relationships, backed by clear documentation and a team around you

You're the right person if...

• You've supported people with disability in SDA, SIL or similar community-based settings
• You're confident and steady when supporting complex behaviours or higher needs
• You can think on your feet and make sound decisions when things shift
• You communicate well, keep clear records and know how to hold professional boundaries
• You're reliable, flexible, and genuinely committed to helping people live with more choice

Why Kanda
Kanda backs new support workers with paid induction and real shadow shifts, so you start this role properly supported, not thrown in. Pay runs from $35–46 per hour plus super and penalties, with flexible casual and part-time options. You'll work within an established on-site team with a supportive on-call service behind you, plus genuine development opportunities as you grow your career.
