About the role

We are actively seeking an experienced Shotfirer to work a 7/7 day shift only roster (12hr days), based at our Jellinbah site. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will join our established team and act as a senior member.

This role would suit someone that is eager to upskill as a multi-skilled Shotfirer/MPU Operator or develop as an on-site Trainer Assessor!

Core accountabilities include: 

• Safe and efficient surface shotfiring operations 
• Carry out pre-starts 
• Regularly carry out workplace Take 5’s 
• Attend toolbox discussions 
• Contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment 

About you 

• Experience in shotfiring operations in an open cut environment essential 
• Demonstrated experience working in the drill & blast industry 
• Experience using both Non-Electric and Electronic Blasting Systems (desirable)
• Unwavering commitment to safety and efficiency 
• Ability to work well within a team and unsupervised
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 

What you need 

• Current HR licence highly desired - open manual's licence essential 
• Current QLD Shotfirer’s ticket highly desired 
• QLD Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain) 
• Current QLD Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
• Standard 11 (or willing to obtain) 
• National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain) 
• Relevant RII competencies (RIIBLA201A & RIIBLA203A) highly regarded

As this is a residential role, you will need to be located within a 60-minute drive of the New Acland Coal mine site.
