 Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill this vacancy, it may also be used to appoint applicants, assessed as suitable during this selection process, to the same or other similar positions at CAHS for up to 12 months. These can be permanent part time or fixed term part time opportunities with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

About Our Team:

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

CAHS helps children grow and thrive and we offer these same opportunities to the nurses who join our team. Our team-oriented approach allows for extensive clinical upskilling, and leadership development opportunities for nurses of all levels.

CAMHS Crisis Connect (CCC) provides a single point of contact for children in community settings across State-wide Western Australia (including metropolitan emergency departments) who require urgent mental health support, brief intervention and/or assessment. 

Support is offered in a variety of different mediums including mental health assessments in PCH emergency department, tele-health assessments for young people in external ED’s in addition to a 24/7 crisis line accessible to all young people, their families and carers in addition to professionals such as teachers, GPs and school psychologists seeking expert advice. 

About the Role:

We are seeking highly motivated experienced nurse to provide leadership and support to the CAMHS Crisis Connect team.    This position is a specialist role which provides an effective clinical and management function.  Areas of accountability will include the provision of advanced service delivery, leadership, clinical standard setting and monitoring, policy development, and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic clinical leadership and act as a key point of accountability for nursing services within the specialty area
• Deliver advanced clinical expertise and consultancy across nursing, medical and allied health teams
• Lead service planning, workforce optimisation, and resource management in partnership with senior leadership
• Drive quality improvement, risk management, and compliance with National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards
• Implement and monitor nursing-sensitive indicators and evidence-based practices
• Support staff development, performance management, and a strong culture of patient safety
• Contribute to business planning, KPI achievement, and service performance outcomes
• Manage stakeholder relationships, patient feedback, and external communications, including complex enquiries

What you will bring: 

• Proven clinical leadership experience within a specialised nursing environment, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver advanced, evidence-based patient care.
• Strong expertise in quality improvement, clinical governance, and National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards, with demonstrated success driving patient safety and service excellence initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, mentor, and collaborate effectively across nursing, medical, allied health, and external service providers.
• Advanced understanding of workforce, resource, and change management within a complex healthcare setting, including experience contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and performance improvement.

Registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is required.
