About the role
Reporting to the Operations leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing team to ensure materials, production schedules and supplier performance support business objectives and customer commitments.
You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to optimise inventory, improve operational efficiency and support new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
As the Planning & Purchasing Manager, you will:
Lead and develop a high-performing Planning and Purchasing team through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
Manage production planning, master scheduling and production control to ensure manufacturing capacity meets customer demand.
Develop and monitor operational KPIs, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective action plans.
Drive demand and supply planning to minimise supply risks while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company procurement policies.
Partner with Engineering to support new product introductions and production readiness.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance cost, quality, productivity and operational efficiency.
Manage cross-functional projects that improve planning processes, automation and supply chain performance.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
You are an experienced supply chain leader with strong planning, purchasing and manufacturing expertise. You enjoy solving complex operational challenges, influencing stakeholders and developing high-performing teams.
You will also bring:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
8+ years' experience in manufacturing, production planning, purchasing or supply chain operations.
Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling and inventory management.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP experience highly regarded).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with planning automation or VBA is advantageous.
Demonstrated success in supplier relationship management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
