Mee Loft
About the role
Mee Loft is an established skydiving equipment sales, rentals and rigging business. We're looking for an exceptionally capable Office & Accounts Administrator to become a long-term and important part of our small team.
This role suits someone who is experienced, organised and disciplined — someone who sees what needs doing, gets it done and follows things through.
We have established systems and procedures, and we're looking for someone who brings the initiative and discipline to keep work, records, priorities and follow-ups on track.
The role
It's varied. A typical day might include:
• Managing and prioritising jobs through Microsoft Planner
• Customer service by phone, email and in person
• Xero invoicing, bills, credits and account reconciliations
• Working with GST, USD, EUR and GBP transactions
• Liaising with our external accountant regarding BAS and other accounting obligations
• Following up outstanding accounts and payments
• Processing rental equipment applications and direct debits
• Managing customer orders, sales and returns
• Dealing with Australian and international suppliers
• Reconciling freight, customs duties and import costs
• Organising domestic and international shipping
• Maintaining accurate customer, order and compliance records
• Keeping the team informed with clear, useful notes and follow-up
We use Xero, Microsoft 365 and integrated systems and automations to manage the business, so being comfortable learning and working with technology is important.
Who we're looking for
We want someone who is seriously good at administration and takes pride in getting things right.
You'll need:
• At least 3 years' experience in a similar office, accounts or administration role
• Strong Xero and bookkeeping/accounting administration experience
• Excellent numerical skills and a sound understanding of GST
• Experience with foreign currencies and exchange conversions
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Microsoft 365 skills
• Excellent organisation and time management
• The ability to juggle competing priorities without losing track of things
• The discipline to follow established processes and see tasks through to completion
• The confidence to solve problems and use your initiative
• A strong work ethic and genuine desire to contribute
Relevant bookkeeping, accounting or Xero qualifications will be highly regarded, but demonstrated experience and capability are more important.
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership.
If something isn't finished, you follow it up. If something doesn't reconcile, you find out why. If a customer is waiting, you don't simply assume somebody else is dealing with it.
What we're like
We're a small, busy and friendly team in a specialised industry, with longstanding staff and a strong emphasis on doing things properly.
You'll work closely with the director and become one of the people the business relies upon to keep things moving.
There is room to take on greater responsibility as your knowledge of the business and capability develop, without needing to move into a management role.
We'll teach you the skydiving side. You don't need any previous skydiving industry experience.
We can't teach you to care about doing a great job — you need to bring that with you.
Hours and flexibility
This is a permanent, office-based position in Woolloongabba.
Our normal working structure is a four-day week, and that's where we'd expect to start. There is flexibility around later starts or earlier finishes, and the role can extend across five days if that better suits the successful candidate and the business.
We're open to approximately 0.7 FTE through to full-time, with the final working arrangement negotiated with the right person.
This is a family-friendly workplace, and we're interested in finding the right long-term person, not simply filling a seat.
What we offer
• $74,000–$80,000 FTE + super, depending on experience and capability
• Flexible four-day working structure, with five-day options
• Family-friendly workplace
• Friendly, supportive and longstanding small team
• Comprehensive training in our industry and systems
• Interesting and genuinely varied work
• Modern systems and technology
• Free onsite parking
• Scope to take on greater responsibility as your experience with the business grows
• A role where being exceptionally good at what you do is noticed and valued
We're looking for someone who can preferably commence in late September 2026 to allow for handover, with commencement required by October.
If you're the person in your current workplace who knows what's going on, keeps things organised and quietly fixes problems before they become bigger ones, we'd like to hear from you.
