ISEC Security is seeking professional, motivated and customer-focused Security Officers to join our team at the Sydney Opera House.

This is an opportunity to work within a prestigious, high-profile environment supporting a diverse range of venue, event and ad-hoc security operations.

Available work may include regular rostered shifts, major events, performances and responsive security assignments. Shift times and hours will vary according to operational requirements and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

About the Role

As a member of the Sydney Opera House security team, you will help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for patrons, visitors, performers, employees and contractors.

Depending on your assigned duties, your responsibilities may include:

Venue Security

· Conducting patron screening and access control in accordance with site procedures.

· Monitoring public areas and identifying potential security or safety concerns.

· Managing queues, crowd flow and movements throughout the site.

· Providing professional customer service and assisting patrons with general enquiries.

· Monitoring compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.

· Responding professionally to incidents, emergencies and requests for assistance.

· Liaising with the client and other stakeholders regarding day-to-day security operations.

· Implementing emergency and evacuation procedures as directed.

Event Security

· Supporting the safe and successful delivery of performances, functions and major events.

· Monitoring crowd numbers, behaviour and movements to maintain safety and capacity requirements.

· Managing entry points, queues and patron movements.

· Identifying suspicious behaviour and responding appropriately to unattended or suspicious items.

· Supporting incident response and operational security requirements.

· Completing accurate incident reports, statements and security notebook entries.

· Maintaining an understanding of site emergency procedures and performing warden duties when required.

Ad-Hoc Security

· Providing responsive security support during protests, elevated threat levels, special operations and asset-protection assignments.

· Adapting quickly to changing operational requirements and site conditions.

· Maintaining a calm, professional and discreet presence in sensitive or high-pressure situations.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

· NSW Security Licence – Class 1A minimum.

· First Aid Certificate.

· Responsible Service of Alcohol competency card.

· NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid workers, or willingness to obtain one before commencing employment.

· Excellent grooming and professional presentation.

· Strong communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills.

· The ability to prepare clear and accurate security and incident reports.

· A sound understanding of emergency procedures and incident-response protocols.

· The ability to remain calm, professional and discreet in high-pressure environments.

· Availability to work flexibly across a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

· The ability to work independently and contribute positively as part of a professional security team.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

The following will be highly regarded:

· Previous experience in event, venue, cultural institution or operational security.

· Experience working within a high-profile, customer-facing environment.

· Experience in crowd management, patron screening or major-event operations.
