About the RoleWe are seeking a WHSEQ Advisor to support our Queensland operations. Reporting to the WHSEQ National General Manager based in WA, you will play a key role in driving compliance, strengthening safety culture, and ensuring the effectiveness of our Health & Safety Management System.
ResponsibilitiesProvide expertise to maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management SystemEnsure compliance with WHS/OHS legislation and regulatory requirementsConduct workplace inspections, audits, and plant/equipment testingAudit hazardous materials storage and handling, identifying gaps and implementing improvementsCoordinate statutory health monitoring of personnelLead risk assessments and deliver recommendations to senior managementFacilitate and track safety training requirements across departmentsMonitor and improve emergency preparedness, including: Reviewing evacuation procedures and emergency planAuditing emergency equipment and safety resourcesSupporting and guiding emergency personnelConducting emergency drills and site evacuationsLead incident and hazard investigations, ensuring: Confidentiality and lawful handling of evidenceHigh-quality investigation standardsStakeholder engagement and communicationImplementation of corrective and preventative actionsOngoing monitoring of risks and improvementsPromote a strong safety-first culture across the business
QualificationsMinimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Safety Coordinator / HSE roleDiploma (or higher) in Occupational Health & Safety or related disciplineBackground in manufacturing, production or transport industry
Required SkillsProven ability to interpret safety legislation and communicate it in clear, practical terms to employees at all levelsAbility to build strong working relationships across all levels of the businessExperience in monitoring incident and hazard investigations, with the ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendationsConfident conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessmentsHigh attention to detail and proactive approach to safety and compliance
