• Identifying engine, mechanical and auto-electrical problems through inspections, testing and fault-finding procedures.
• Removing and examining engines, gearboxes, steering assemblies and related components to locate damage and determine repair requirements.
• Restoring faulty vehicle systems by fitting suitable OEM-approved replacement parts and rebuilding components in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Completing routine and preventative vehicle servicing, including fluid replacement, lubrication and engine adjustments to maintain efficient operation and emission standards.
• Refitting repaired engine assemblies and components and ensuring correct installation before testing.
• Verifying completed repairs through operational checks and making necessary adjustments to restore vehicle performance.
• Operating electronic scanning and diagnostic systems to investigate fault codes and assess vehicle components.
• Attending vehicle breakdowns and carrying out roadside mechanical assistance when required.
• Discussing identified vehicle issues and recommended repair requirements with customers before additional work is undertaken.
• Maintaining workshop tools and diagnostic equipment to support safe and efficient repair work.
• Recording servicing, repairs and parts fitted to maintain accurate workshop and vehicle service histories.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
• Should have at least one (1) year of full-time experience as a Motor Mechanic in Australia.
