About the Role
The Compliance Governance Manager will partner with the Head of Compliance Governance & Oversight to embed a robust, company wide compliance management approach. You’ll help the business understand and meet its regulatory obligations by delivering tailored advice, enhancing the Group’s compliance framework and providing operational oversight of AFSL and other obligations. Your work will drive the Group’s compliance agenda and support a culture of high performance with high integrity.

What You’ll Do

• Provide quality, timely compliance advice to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to the review and improvement of compliance frameworks, documentation and e learning material, ensuring alignment with the Group’s compliance management framework.
• Support the delivery and achievement of the approved Compliance Plan.
• Undertake 2nd line assurance and monitoring activities across the business, under the guidance of the Head of Compliance Governance & Oversight.
• Identify and recommend system, process, product, sales or service improvements while delivering compliant solutions.
• Monitor compliance with AFSL requirements and manage ASIC lodgements.
• Design and manage compliance education and awareness programmes to foster a positive compliance culture.
• Provide inputs for the collation and escalation of compliance insights to committees, boards and risk forums.
• Maintain the Group’s compliance obligations library, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Support User Acceptance Testing for the GRC solution and maintain intranet compliance resources.
• Role model A&G values in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance, risk, legal or audit roles within financial services (insurance experience highly regarded).
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to make timely, effective decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of influencing behaviours at all organisational levels.
• Proven drafting skills for policies, processes and frameworks.
• Demonstrated negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to navigate complexity, provide pragmatic commercial solutions and manage change.
• Robust analytical and critical thinking capabilities; skill at interpreting data, spotting trends and informing judgments.
• Knowledge of Australian financial services legislation, compliance standards and risk management frameworks.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred) and, where applicable, professional memberships in compliance, legal or risk bodies.
