Dog Photography Assistant

About the role

Join the Ragamuffin team as a part-time photography assistant, with full training to move you into a photographer role. Since 2010, Ragamuffin has photographed thousands of pets and raised over $200,000 for animal rescue. You'll be part of a small, supportive team that values kindness, growth, and integrity, working on outdoor pet portraiture based in Geelong, Victoria.

Key responsibilities

• Assist on dog photoshoots, with full training provided to move into a photography role

• Run sales sessions over Zoom, helping clients choose their favourite photographs, design their packages, and confidently closing each sale with warmth and professionalism

• Make phone calls with clients and leads

• Respond promptly and warmly to client messages via email and SMS inbox

• Occasionally assist at expos or dog events in Melbourne

About you

• Interest in photography (full training provided, so no photography skills necessary)

• Comfort around animals and exceptional patience

• Own car (photoshoots are often at locations not accessible by public transport)

• Saturday availability

• Genuine love of dogs

• Take pride in your work and appreciate constructive feedback

• Punctual and reliable

• Enjoy being outdoors and not afraid to get muddy for a great photo
