Residential Care Worker (YOUTH)

About the role

As a Residential Care Worker, you will provide day-to-day support to young people living in residential care. The role requires workers who can confidently operate within established care plans, routines, behavioural support strategies and organisational policies while maintaining professional boundaries and providing a safe and stable environment for young people.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting young people with daily routines and independent living skills

• Transport to school, appointments, family contact and community activities

• Supporting positive behaviours and responding appropriately to escalations

• Maintaining professional boundaries and a trauma-informed approach

• Completing shift documentation and incident reporting

• Supporting household routines, meals and general activities

• Working collaboratively with other caregivers and the broader care team

• Completing sleepover, weekend and public holiday shifts as required

About you

• Previous residential youth care experience

• LCS2 – Licensed Care Service screening

• Current Blue Card

• Hope & Healing training/certificate

• Current First Aid and CPR

• ABN

• Appropriate contractor insurances

• Current Australian Driver Licence

• Reliable and appropriately insured vehicle

• Relevant youth work/community services qualification, or currently completing an appropriate qualification
