Senior Tax Accountant

The Role

We are continuing to expand our portfolio and are on the lookout for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role would suit a Tax Accountant looking to take the next step in their career as a Senior Accountant / Client Manager or continue on this pathway.

In this busy and varied role you will work with a broad and diverse range of established clients, providing you with both challenging and interesting work.

Reporting directly to a Partner, your primary responsibility will be to provide public practice accounting, taxation and related business services to a client base of individuals through to companies operating via various business and investment structures. We are seeking a go-getter looking to be client facing and capable of running files independently. You may already be at this stage of your career or looking to progress to this - we can work with your experience (looking at minimum 5 years) and are more looking for the right personality fit for the clients.

The Location

Based in Birtinya, we are across the street from Lake Kawana, which provides a perfect backdrop for a stroll or a lunch run. The beautiful waterside community of Birtinya is ideally positioned close to some of the Coast’s best beaches and features exciting shopping, dining, entertainment and recreational facilities. It is also home to the Sunshine Coast Health Precinct, which offers world-class hospitals and medical facilities.

What you will bring to the team:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce;

• Completed, commenced or willing to commence CPA/CA; 

• Minimum 5 years of public practice experience;

• Business Services, Tax and BAS experience;

• Tax Planning experience;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - you will be client facing;

• Excellent knowledge of tax compliance & research skills;

• Ambition to succeed and be able to work autonomously with a great work ethic;

• Previous experience in XERO & Microsoft Office Suite; and

• Experience with XPM and business fitness work papers is preferred but not essential.
