SCL Automotive Group is seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Dealership Accountant to join our Finance team at our Reynella operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who wants more than just an entry-level accounting role. You will gain practical exposure to the full dealership accounting cycle while working closely with experienced finance professionals and dealership management.

SCL Automotive Group is a South Australian, family-owned and operated multi-franchise automotive group with a growing portfolio of dealerships and automotive businesses.

About the Role

Working closely with the Dealership Accountant and Finance team, you will develop a strong understanding of automotive dealership accounting and contribute to the accurate and timely financial management of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with month-end financial reporting and reconciliations

• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations

• Manufacturer Receivables account reconciliations

• Processing and reviewing dealership transactions

• Floorplan Payouts

• Assisting with preparation of management and OEMs reports

• Investigating variances and identifying discrepancies

• Assisting with audits, compliance and statutory reporting

• Supporting the Dealership Accountant with ad-hoc analysis and projects

• Learning and developing an understanding of dealership KPIs and profitability

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, analytical and eager to build a long-term career in accounting.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• A willingness to learn and develop

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Good Microsoft Excel skills

• A positive, proactive and team-oriented attitude

• The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities

• An interest in the automotive industry

• Previous accounting or automotive experience is advantageous, but not essential
