Casual Position

About the Position

Council's Waste and Recycling Team, within the Fleet, Civil and Waste Section, is responsible for delivering effective waste collection services and maintaining high standards of service for our community.

This is a casual position with shifts offered based on operational requirements. There is no guarantee of ongoing or minimum hours. Successful applicants will join Council's casual employee pool and may be offered shifts to cover planned works, employee leave, peak service demands and emergency response activities.

This position is responsible for undertaking a broad range of waste service activities including, but not limited to:

• Kerbside waste collection
• Mobile garbage bin repairs and replacements
• Waste management support for local events
• General operational support across Waste and Recycling activities as required
• Offsider duties in the Waste Services Team

Due to the operational nature of the role, successful applicants may be required to work outside normal operating hours where required.

About You

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused and customer-oriented person with the skills, knowledge and experience required to perform the role of RACV Operator – Waste and Recycling.

Key Selection Criteria:

1. Minimum two years' experience driving heavy vehicles and a current HR Driver's Licence.
2. Demonstrated experience operating Robotic Arm Collection Vehicles (RACVs) and undertaking kerbside collection services.
3. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service and contributing to continuous improvement.
4. Experience following collection routes and working efficiently to meet operational service standards.
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a safe and supportive work environment.
